The 21st century began with 9/11 and things have gone downhill ever since. From brushfire wars to corporate greed, a whole world of violence and betrayal lays beneath the veneer of our modern ‘civilization’. The economic insecurities have exacerbated the global stage and cast long shadows between right and wrong.
You are one of those individuals who has made the “Shadow Wars” of today your bread and butter. Relying on skills long-honed and networks paid for with sin, you move through this secret world: deniable and deadly. Your Team is composed of professionals just like you; in search of money, adrenaline and sometimes an end to nightmares. You and your Team travel the world and profit from the chaos of this post-modern century.

SUMMARY
>You play a Freelance Operative who works in the shadows for governments, factions, corporations and anyone else who is willing to pay your price. And, if the price is right, there is little that you will not do.
This game uses the system COVERT OPS from DWD Games. It is a d00 product and incredibly simple to learn and play. The core system assumes that you work for a secret organization and fight other secret organizations like Cobra… This is not that game. This incarnation will be a much more Clancy than Bond.
This game will make extensive of use Google Maps and exaggerated global conditions/conflicts.
Since Night’s Black Agents is too difficult to play on PbP, I’ve decided to go with this system which is simple and open enough to accommodate the kind of missions that I envision your Team taking in pursuit of wealth. No supernatural stuff. Just straight tradecraft, black ops and shadow games.

>I’ve added a number of mechanics/ideas from other espionage games including Night’s Black Agents, Spycraft and IHW: Wild Blue.
>A few other tweaks that contribute to the feel of a more gritty setting and amp things up so that characters are more… Bourne-ish.
GM’s GOALS
I’ve been dying to run a cool mercenary/espionage game but struggled with a good system. Having discovered COVERT OPS, it’s simple and quick enough to withstand some tweaks and deliver a solid experience.

1. This will be a Mature Game And I’m Requiring That Players Must Be Above The Age of Majority In Their Homeland (please affirm this in any RTJ).
2. Any familiarity with COVERT OPS or FRONTIERSPACE?
