BareBones Fantasy RPG is not associated with Skaldcrow Games' Bare Bones Multiverse, despite similar names. Check out Glenn's products by clicking here.
For anyone who is looking at this game for the first time...I purchased the PDF a few days ago and have to say that this is a very fresh approach...something that has been needed for a very long time. The use of ranks and flexible magic is very clever!
The cover art is fantastic and the interior layout is very nicely done. I can definitely recommend picking up this system.
LOL...I would love to write an adventure for it :)

I wrote a review (sort of) over on rpg.net

Love this game.
Thanks for that link. I've been poking around the 'net trying to find a BBF test drive rule set as I've bought way too many rule sets I thought might be good only to be disappointed. The review has convinced me to bite the bullet and give this one a try.
Yay!
Cool beans! :D
Jaracove, thanks for your semi-review of BBF on RPG.net. It got me interested in this game!
I noticed that in past posts on RPG.net, you applauded Microlite 74 as an excellent rules-light system. I have used M74 since I also favor game systems that are rules-light, but flexible. How would you compare Microlite74 with BareBones Fantasy? Is it worth switching to BBF from M74? Thanks in advance for your answer.
They are both very similar in terms of crunch, but I prefer BBF because it doesn't have 'levels', and you have more choices where you want to take your character. It's so easy to take BBF and just keep adding your house rules. I also like that magic is flexible.
Sorry I can't add much more than that, but ultimately, you won't go far wrong with either set of rules.

Jaracove, thanks for the quick reply. I purchased BBF today at RPGNow, read it through, and it's just amazing. I've enjoyed Microlite74 for some time now, and its author/developer Randall Stukey has always been so responsive and helpful that I feel like I'm cheating by reading BBF. But wow, the character generation process looks so good, with so much flexibility and variety, that it just calls to me. I cannot wait to try it out.
Again, thanks for your review back at RPG.net. It was truly helpful.
Glad to be of some assistance :D
