I've been browsing around the forums and I came across a few posts going back to 2012 which refer to a supplement in development, Epic Adventures. From what I understand it was to take skills from level 6 to level 10.
As I can't see it anywhere I'm guessing that the supplement was never fully developed. Is it still something that is under consideration?
BareBones Fantasy RPG is not associated with Skaldcrow Games' Bare Bones Multiverse, despite similar names. Check out Glenn's products by clicking here.
The idea of creating a product to rank characters from 6 to 10 has been discussed. We've received feedback from GM's that run long campaigns and it's something we may consider down the road. In fact some of the creatures in the upcoming BareBones Fantasy Bestiary we considered "epic" and thought was given to creating a bestiary supplement to compliment.
With the Agents of Sector kickstarter, Bestiary, FrontierSpace, Heroes of Keeper's Island boardgame, adventures, we don't see this making this years list.
If you've ran high-rank games, and have any feedback we'd love to hear it. :D
I've not as yet got to high-rank games (in fact, I've just started), but I like to think ahead about the longevity of characters within the game. I think it will be some time before we get beyond rank 6...
One bit of advice, don't treat DP like candy :)
Now that you've mentioned DP....
It's something I've been thinking about over the last couple of weeks. We started Maidens of Moordoth and the characters are just about to enter Maidens Hill.
I added a fair bit to the adventure, so the first first part in Moordoth and the journey to Maiden's Hill took about 3.5 - 4 hours. I would expect a similar length session for the dungeon section (again with bits I've added and changed).
The BBF rules state that DP should be awarded at the end of the session, but if I do that I'm concerned the characters may advance too quickly. Also it doesn't feel quite right here... the main part of the adventure is yet to come.
I'm wondering what informed the design decision to award DP after the session rather than after the adventure. Is there a consensus that awarding DP after the session provides a better progression for the characters and awards?
My instinct at the moment is to award DP after the end of the adventure.

Agree, I consider a game session at the end of a story/adventure. Many times my players do not get DP when they pack up their bags and head home from an evening of game play (local game store or online).
